Summary
We have an opportunity for a Director, Product Management - Embedded Software to join our team in our Richmond, BC headquarters and be responsible for product management and life-cycle management of all embedded software for our Device to Cloud solutions. Reporting to the VP, Product Management, you will be responsible for developing product roadmaps, planning and executing the launch of new and existing products. You will be the Product Champion for all aspects of product including Profit and Loss, and product requirements. You will lead the core team of Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Quality and Support as well as Product Managers to fulfill this responsibility. You will also be involved in strategic activities including unique task forces, special assignments and strategic planning as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Primary lead on assigned embedded software product portfolio globally and leading the software product team
- Aligning strategy with roadmaps and product plans: specify and manage priorities and release programs
- Ensure customer needs for product features are recommended while balancing engineering capabilities, positive business cases and practical delivery time
- Provide content for product data sheets, press releases and brochures, website content, customer success stories, competitive briefs, sales presentations, case studies and white papers
- Work with marketing and sales with to develop product training and support materials for sales forces, and help train field personnel
- Participate in visits and demonstrations to key prospects and customers, and support seminar and trade show activities
- Communicate plans and activities effectively to management and to the company as a whole
- Define and implement measurement tools for the product portfolio performance analysis and propose actions accordingly
- Work independently with minimal supervision and be able to develop key concepts and execute on them
- A moderate amount of travel will be required - 10 - 25%
Required Education, Experience & Competencies
- Bachelor degree in Science, Marketing, Engineering or Commerce; MBA preferred
- Superior communication, relationship and interpersonal skills
- Deep experience with Software Product Management in an Agile development environment and life cycle management
- Deep experience in Linux, RTOS, Android, Java and associated tools
- Experience managing a product team
- Ability to multitask and work with various internal and external groups
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
