Job Summary
The AirLink Product Management Team is focused on providing mission critical 4G/5G cellular networking solutions to key vertical markets such as IoT, industrial, mobile networking, and enterprise. We serve customers with solutions for segments like smart energy, public safety, and transportation. Enterprise Networking encompasses all of Sierra Wireless' AirLink routers and gateways, and advanced network management and mobility applications.
Sierra Wireless is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Product Security & Networking to lead Product Security in the Product Management Team. Reporting directly to the VP of Product Management, our ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in defining the core device software, security features, and product security practices of the AirLink cellular router and cloud software product portfolio. In this role you will shape the strategy, design and implementation for the AirLink cellular router and cloud software products.
Most of the Product Management Team are based in the Vancouver area and work in a hybrid capacity, but we will be open to fill this position with someone who will work remotely from a location in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Work with other Product Managers and Engineering leads to plan product security features across all AirLink routers and software
- Track evolving security requirements from carriers, customers, and industry standards
- Act as the point of contact for Sales and customer security questions on AirLink router security
- Provide guidance for internal and third-party security testing of AirLink solutions
- Author security advisories for AirLink routers and software
- Work collaboratively with the sales team, channel partners and product support in support of new customer opportunities, including training, webinars, demos, etc.
- Work collaboratively with marketing to drive product positioning, product launch and other commercialization activities
- Manage the vision and feature roadmap for AirLink OS, a modern Linux-based firmware stack for 5G and LTE AirLink routers
- Work with engineering teams to plan and validate networking, UI, OS, and device management features
- Meet with sales teams, channel, and customers to discuss AirLink OS capabilities and roadmap
- Provide technical guidance for critical customers and novel customer use cases
- Manage alignment of AirLink OS roadmap within broader customer-facing solutions incorporating cloud-based services
- Work with PLM and project teams to align AirLink OS support for new hardware variants
Required Education, Experience & Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar
- Solid working knowledge of networking technologies and the networking ecosystem (competitors, partners, channels, carriers)
- Motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoys working on complex system software
- Sound business judgment and knowledge of financial issues impacting cost, revenue, and profitability.
- Demonstrated leadership in a cross-functional team environment, including sales, marketing, product management, engineering, customer retention and support
Desired Education, Experience & Skills
- A business degree such as an MBA
- Familiarity with cellular 4G LTE / 5G wireless communications an asset
- Experience in managed network solutions in the IoT Enterprise space
- Experience with Cellular networking technologies
- Networking Certifications such as CCNA
- Product management experience in Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
