Job Summary
We are looking for a Principal Engineer, Security Operations to design, implement and operate systems that facilitate the production of secure products. Reporting to the Chief Security Engineer, you will work with product engineering teams, manufacturing, and vendors to gather requirements and architect solutions that enable the rollout of advanced security features such as secure boot, D2C PKI, dynamic threat intelligence and anomaly detection. You will also be responsible for managing our CNA (CVE Numbering Authority) program which includes coordinating the assessment, scoring, remediation and publication of vulnerabilities found in Sierra Wireless products. This includes acquiring CVE numbers from MITRE, assigning them to vulnerabilities, submitting CVEs and maintaining related CPE data in the NVD and coordinating security bulletins to advise customers of vulnerabilities in our products.
Responsibilities
- Provide functional and technical leadership in Security Operations for Sierra Wireless
- Design and operate Key Management Solutions (Secure Boot, Secure Update, Device Management PKI...)
- Provide Secure Manufacturing Support (HSM Operation, Factory Network Security Support)
- Owner of Sierra Wireless's Vulnerability Management Program (NVD Monitoring, Vendor Security Bulletin Integration, CNA Management)
- Manage Security Feature PoC (Anomaly Detection, Dynamic Threat Intelligence)
- Provide general security operations support e.g. assisting product teams dealing with security concerns for customers
Required Education, Experience & Skills
- 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity employment experience (VPN, Cryptography, Role-based user access management etc.)
- CISSP or Equivalent
- Proficiency in software development life cycles (SDLC) such as Waterfall and Agile
- Ability to handle multiple simultaneous priorities either directly or through delegation
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks through to completion
- Excellent written and interpersonal skills
Desired Education, Experience & Skills
- Programming experience in one or more of Java, C, C++ or Python
