Job Summary
We have an opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in our Richmond, BC headquarters. In this role, you will assist the Director, Finance on various accounting matters including supporting the end-to-end accounting and statutory reporting for various and other ad hoc duties as required.
Responsibilities
Assist with the end-to-end accounting for a subsidiary, including:
- Monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting quarterly reviews and annual audit
- Statutory reporting
- Liaising with local Accounting Firm
- Work with other members of the finance team and other departments to resolve issues and ensure accurate data is provided to accounting
- Assist stakeholders in other departments with accounting queries
Participate in ad hoc duties and various special projects requiring financial accounting, financial analysis, and process design skills.
Required Education, Experience & Skills
- Professional CPA designation or equivalent experience
- Proficient in accounting standards, U.S. GAAP an asset
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments and effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including use of Pivot tables
Desired Education, Experience & Skills
- Experience with JD Edwards would be an asset
- Understand internal controls, SOX and experience working with external auditors
