Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Manager Infrastructure & Security is responsible for liaising with the business community with managing the company's Infrastructure (servers - physical, virtual and cloud, networks, phone systems, desktops, etc.), System Software (Windows Server, VMware, SQL Server, email, management tools, etc.) and IT Security (physical and logical security of the IT environment, Disaster Recovery, InfoSec Audits, etc.). S/he will also manage associated vendors and consultants. The Manager Infrastructure & Security will also collaborate with other IT management in defining and implementing IT Governance (Policies, Procedures, Security), planning IT Strategy, and day-to-day operations and support of the business.

Responsibilities:
- Work with senior IT managers to implement strategies that are aligned to the business needs of SureWerx and its related companies;
- Collaborate in the development of the IT Organization capable of supporting a billion-dollar company;
- Develop and mentor staff so they grow relative to SureWerx needs and industry advancements;
- Manage IT staff and contractors associated with technical infrastructure and support systems;
- Ensure proper technical training is in place for users and IT staff;
- Lead the technical design of the of infrastructure, networks, and systems software to serve the needs of business systems and the user community;
- Schedule, oversee and remediate independent InfoSec audits on an annual basis;
- Actively participate in the Governance of IT through establishing and enforcing:
o Policies, procedures, and privacy,
o Security planning, enforcement, and remediation of incidents,
o Service management (access control, asset control, event management),
o Establish and meet department Service Level Standards,
o NIST Standards for IT;
- Oversee infrastructure management functions including, system monitoring, reporting, analysis, back-ups, preventative maintenance, patch applications, capacity planning and upgrades;
- Work with department managers to understand their operations and provide IT solutions which support their business needs and goals;
- Resolve any issues related to infrastructure and/or service delivery;
- Manage relationships with vendors and external contracts to ensure the company receives the best value for its investment;
- Provide leadership for system enhancements, improvements, and conversions of various business units;
- Review departmental requests for technology and makes appropriate recommendation(s);
- Participate in managing an IT budget within budgetary guidelines.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary education in the field of Computer Science;
- A minimum of 8 - 10 years' experience in managing infrastructure and security in multiple locations and multiple business units;
- Knowledge of industry standards and policies;
- Management of on-premise and remote environments;
- Knowledge and experience with:
- Networks:
- Lan and vLAN Management,
- WAN Management,
- Domain management,
- Network devices including level 2 and 3 switches,
- Firewall Management;
- Servers
- varying from small to very large in size
- Hyper-convergent environments,
- Private clouds using VMware,
- Windows Server - DC and Standard,
- SQL Server Management (not at the DBA level),
- Cloud Services such as Azure and AWS;

- Disaster Recovery (DR):
- Documenting DR processes,
- Executing regular test,
- Educating the IT & user communities;
- Management Tools:
- Endpoint Management including Mobile Device Management,
- Access Management,
- SIEMs;
- Demonstrated experience with system conversions;
- Excellent communication skills written and verbal;

- This position requires periodic travel to branches in Canada and the US;
