The Business Development Engineer at Svante is a key function to enable the Company to drive future growth in commercial-scale carbon capture. This position is vital in building and developing strong relationships with clients by providing technical support to screen and define complex projects.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: - Lead proposal team on RFP, RFQ, award submittals and roster application responses;
- Synthesis proposal materials into final client ready package;
- Create qualification packages, project descriptions, award submittals and project descriptions;
- Interface with sub's and prime to gather proposal document data;
- Proposal writing: Gathers information from functional groups within company and creates proposals including technology description, project scope, cost, and payment schedule.
- Business Development Screening: Provides initial communications with potential clients to assess application fit and level of priority.
- Maintain proposal milestones schedule like issue and review dates, kickoff meetings and due dates;
- Develop proposals and presentation to deliver materials meeting RFP requirements, quality standards and overall strategy;
- Develops strong customer relationships by personal visits, phone calls, follow ups, emails.
- Marketing: Collaborates with Communications manager on generating marketing materials such as brochures.
- Develop shared directories of Request for Proposal Information;
- Assists in preparing market plans and strategies to promote company's products.
- Keeps current on market, client and industry trends and communicates to management on impact on business as well as potential for opportunities.
- Carries out other related tasks and projects.
Competencies required (knowledge, skills and abilities): - Education: Engineering degree in relevant field or equivalent
- Attitude: Must naturally espouse Svante values and believe in our Goals and Objectives. Must be a lean devote. Must possess excellent problem solving skills in a collaborative manner
- Experience: 3 years minimum of technical experience or relevant
- Strong communications skills including the ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Experience with technical writing such as developing business proposals or technical reports
- Familiar with process and/or plant engineering language and processes
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and diverse groups of stakeholders
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills in establishing cooperative working relationships both internally and externally
- Good time management, with ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong customer service skills, including ability to build credibility and trust
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to make sound recommendation
