Overview
Are you an administrative support professional with great multitasking skills who can easily manage a high-volume workload? Are you detail-oriented with a passion for customer service? We're looking for an assistant to support our Medical Services Department. In this role, you will provide assistance to our medical staff with a variety of services from planning and attending conferences to scheduling appointments and preparing training materials.
This is a temporary assignment of approximately 18 months.
Please note, this position will follow our hybrid model and offer the successful candidate opportunities to work remotely and onsite based on the operational needs of the position. This may require coming onsite once a month with the potential to come more frequently should operational needs require it.
What you'll do
As a medical services assistant you will:
- Provide administrative support to the managers of Medical Services including travel arrangements
- Help plan, execute and attend conferences and clinical days
- Prepare a monthly series of spreadsheets using spreadsheet software; maintain other data management reports
- Interact and liaise with a variety of individuals including department staff and managers
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and training
- Prepare purchase requisitions and maintain departmental inventory

- Plan and execute tasks and events
- Develop and organize multiple schedules while maintaining an organized desk
- Apply your knowledge of MS Office Suite products including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Travel and stay overnight if required
Your experience and educational background:
- Completion of Grade 12 (some post-secondary education is preferred)
- Proficient in word processing software (i.e. spreadsheets, project software, etc.)
- Must be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute
- Valid BC Driver's license
