Vancouver, BC, March 22, 2013--(T-Net)--ePACT Network Ltd. (a recent GrowLab graduate and member of the 2013 ICT "Ready to Rocket" list), announced that the company has recently been accepted into the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) program in San Francisco, and has received an investment from Yaletown Venture Partners.
The Company will also be attending VentureScape's "World's Largest Office Hours" in San Francisco on May 14th. VentureScape is the annual meeting of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA).
The VentureScape website describes the World's Largest Office Hours as “bring(ing) together key players from America's startup and innovation ecosystems for two full days of compelling content, unprecedented thought leadership and outstanding networking opportunities.” A select group of entrepreneurs were invited to participate, including ePACT.
ePACT is kicking off its Series A fundraising efforts now, working to raise $3-4 Million this spring. This will coincide with the ePACT Network public launch, opening its current closed beta system up to the public.
The CTA is an initiative managed by the Canadian Trade Commissioner to provide Canadian technology companies access to unique resources in Silicon Valley that help build business opportunities across North America.
ePACT will receive space at the CTA's RocketSpace location in the heart of SOMA, one of the Valley's technology hubs housing the likes of Foursquare, Twitter, Yelp and Wired headquarters. Each year, the CTA Rocketspace location accepts an average of 6 applicants to the program, providing office space, added resources and introductions to key contacts in Silicon Valley. This includes opening doors to potential US-based investors, business development and partner contacts and companies that can significantly broaden the reach of Canadian start-ups.
Christine Sommers, ePACT Co-Founder and CEO, stated “We are thrilled to start the Canadian Technology Accelerator program in April. We look forward to immersing ourselves in the entrepreneurial community of the Valley, while also taking advantage of introductions that will truly help ePACT grow on a global scale.
"Having recently graduated from GrowLab accelerator, Sommers also says she is excited to be able to continue to leverage the ongoing mentorship of Debbie Landa, GrowLab Founder and Principal, based in Silicon Valley.
"Debbie has been an outstanding advocate for ePACT and a real mentor to both Kirsten (ePACT Co-Founder) and I. So to be in the same city and take advantage of her ongoing advice and expertise is also a huge opportunity for us."
