Oxcept Unveils "Scrambl" - Military-Grade Network Security Application for iOS and Android Mobile Devices

Vancouver, BC, May 28, 2015--(T-Net)--Led by Vancouver-based CEO Perry Anderson, UK and San Francisco based secure data transmisssion company OxCEPT announced today that it is unveiling Scrambl, a military-grade network security application for iOS and Android mobile devices.
Developed at Oxford University, in collaboration with the UK Ministry of Defense and US Navy, this patented technology is being made available to the public for the first time.
Celebrities, private citizens, and businesses all face the risk of mobile network attacks, often unknowingly. In Canada, at least 276,000 records were breached in 2014, while a global study by British Telecom found mobile security breaches hit 68 percent of organizations in 2014. Over half expect to be attacked again, yet in Canada, more than 60% of companies are not sure they have adequate mobile protection, especially on employee-owned devices.
“We rely on mobile communication more than ever, but companies and their employees are not taking necessary steps to protect sensitive data on their mobile devices,” explains Perry M. Anderson, chief executive officer, OxCEPT. “While most companies acknowledge the need to use mobile devices, they are failing to adequately protect mobile data from being hacked and stolen.”
Proven in military field trials, where secure communications are critical, Scrambl eliminates these risks by creating Private Virtual Channels (PVCs) between any iOS or Android device, over any unsecured network. Established in less than 30 seconds, a PVC can be used once, or kept as long as it's needed.
Unlike other solutions on the market, Scrambl is not an “off-the-shelf” product. It's unique, patented authentication process ensures you only communicate with those you intend to. Using Scrambl, private information cannot be stolen by malicious data thieves using well-known methods like the “man-in-the-middle” attack.
“With the downward trend in traditional PC sales, and the sharp increase in smartphone and tablet use, mobile data breaches have become the norm, not the exception,” continues Anderson. “To protect critical data from theft, companies and individuals must take action to strengthen the security of their communications. Scrambl will do that, quickly and affordably.”
The risks to mobile security keep on growing: Celebrity phones are hacked to obtain private pictures, personal emails are stolen, and business transactions are targeted by corporate espionage. And the consequences keep getting more substantial. Financial penalties, loss of Intellectual Property and reputational damage may be just the tip of the iceberg.
Scrambl will be available for download in the App Store. Pre-registration is available at www.getscrambl.com
