Vancouver, BC, April 7, 2016--(T-Net)--Yaletown Partners announced today that it has begun raising a new $135 million venture capital fund to invest in emerging growth companies.
Yaletown Partners was identified last year as Canada's most active private independent VC for 2014 in Thomson Reuters' independent annual review of Canada's Venture Capital Market, with $22.3 million invested in 27 deals in that year. Yaletown also held the top most active ranking in 2013, and was the 6th most active in 2015 with $64 million invested across 13 deals.
Yaletown has invested in a number of “emerging-growth” technology businesses in recent years. Typically, these companies had annual product sales of $2-5 million and were looking to scale their go-to-market programs. Investment successes include Monexa, acquired by a global enterprise SaaS leader, and Partnerpedia, acquired by systems management giant BMC Software.
Yaletown reports that emerging-growth investments help Canadian technology businesses to scale-up from their initial go-to-market success, accelerating their growth, shortening exit timeframes and generating excellent returns for founders and investors.
To build on this success, Yaletown Partners reported that it has now commenced raising a new $135M Yaletown Emerging Growth Fund to invest in similar companies.
