Norsat's President and CEO Wins 2016 UBC Engineering Excellence Alumni Award and Dean's Medal of Distinction

Vancouver, BC, June 27, 2016--(T-Net)--Norsat announced that its President and CEO, Dr. Amiee Chan was awarded a 2016 Engineering Excellence Alumni Award at the recent University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Applied Science Centennial Celebration in Vancouver, BC.
Engineering Excellence Alumni Awards recognize and celebrate the extraordinary commitment to the betterment of society from individuals and organizations within the Applied Science community. These individuals or organizations have made an impact on the community at large through both their field of expertise and through community involvement.
The recipient must have a UBC Applied Science degree.

Dr. Amiee Chan was also awarded the UBC Applied Science Dean's Medal of Distinction at the Centennial Celebration. The Faculty of Applied Science Dean's Medal of Distinction was created in 2015 to mark the celebration of the UBC and Applied Science's 100th anniversary.
The medal serves to recognize individuals who have brought high honour to the Faculty and/ or who have made long standing/ significant contributions to advance its vision, mission and mandate.
