Synopsis of the talk:
Burnaby-based General Fusion is developing the fastest, most practical path to commercial fusion energy - a clean, safe, abundant and on-demand form of energy that, when harnessed, could provide a nearly unlimited source of power with zero CO2 emissions.
The company is combining state-of-the-art plasma physics with more traditional technology such as gas driven pistons in the pursuit of a power plant that can be practically implemented at commercial scale.
In this talk, Chief Technology Officer Michael Delage will discuss the progress of fusion energy development, the challenges it faces, and the technology being developed here in BC that could lead to clean energy, everywhere, forever.
