Canadian and Chinese universities will benefit from research internships
Vancouver, BC, March 10, 2017--(T-Net)--Mitacs, a Canadian not-for-profit research and training organization, and the China Scholarship Council (CSC), have renewed a partnership agreement to support international research opportunities for undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
Canadian universities will benefit from increased international connections and opportunities to recruit top international talent, enhancing global knowledge networks, and promoting bilateral trade.
Through Mitacs' Globalink program, the five-year partnership will provide several opportunities for bilateral student mobility:
“Our agreement with the CSC will provide Canadian faculty and universities new opportunities to benefit from students' international perspectives, while showing young researchers the breadth of Canadian research opportunities available. This partnership signifies Canada's and China's shared commitment to talent development and economic growth.” stated Alejandro Adem, Chief Executive Officer and Scientific Director, Mitacs.
“The MOU marks a milestone in the collaboration between the CSC and Mitacs which aims to jointly develop higher education and talent pool around China and Canada. International student and scholar mobility plays a critical role in the global knowledge economy, and in the communication between the two countries. I'm confident that students will also draw benefits from the global experience.” said Liu Jinghui, Secretary General, China Scholarship Council.
