Terramera Awarded $2.5 Million to Develop Cleaner Plant-Based Pest Control to Help Canadian Agriculture

Vancouver, BC, October 12, 2018--(T-Net)--The Government of Canada announced this week that it will invest $58.6 million in 14 Canadian cleantech companies, including $2.5 million awarded to Terramera.
The funding comes through Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), a government foundation created to fund new environmental technologies that address climate change and clean air, water and soil.
"Investments like this help Canada be at the forefront of clean, sustainable technology innovation, and Terramera is proud to be among the 14 cleantech companies receiving funding today," said Terramera Founder and CEO, Karn Manhas. "This funding will expedite our development of safer, more effective plant-based replacements to synthetic chemical pesticides for the benefit of all Canadians. This gets us one step closer to our goal of creating a world with affordable, clean food for everyone. We are thrilled by this announcement and the continued support from the federal government."
The 14 clean technology companies that will received funding from the SDTC include Boreas Technology, Carbicrete, Sanexen Inc., Lithion Recycling Inc., VueReal Inc., Giatec Scientific, Li-Cycle Corp., Yava Alumina, Ranovus, Ambyint Inc., Consolidated Biofuels, Clir Renewables, Semios and Terramera.
