Burnaby, BC, February 1, 2018--(T-Net)--As part of the first initiative of its kind in B.C., SFU health sciences researcher Anne-Marie Nicol is handing out free radon-testing kits for Vancouverites to test for the cancer-causing gas in their homes.
Radon, a radioactive gas that is odourless and colourless, is the second leading cause of lung cancer in Canada, after smoking.
Less than five per cent of all Canadian have tested their homes for radon, which can accumulate indoors and enters buildings through cracks in the foundation and crawl spaces.
