Tuesday, March 6, 2018
FirstLook360 advanced rescue camera developed and manufactured in Richmond, BC, is the world's first 360° spherical imaging system built specifically for finding victims following natural and man-made disasters.
Vancouver, BC, March 6, 2018--(T-Net)--Agility Technologies announced today that Canada Task Force1 (CAN-TF1), one of five National Heavy Urban Search and Rescue Teams in Canada has acquired two of the its FirstLook360 Rescue camera systems to enhance their team's response to visual search for survivors following a building collapse, mudslides, flooding and other disasters.
Kirk Heaven, Task Force Leader for CAN-TF1 and Training Officer for Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services stated, "Our collaboration with local company Agility Technologies (ATC) has paid off by increasing our operational capabilities and allowing our team to conduct victim location searches faster and more efficiently. As we train with the FL360 camera system we are finding more and more uses for it. The FL360 system is a great example of a Canadian solution to a Global problem."
The FL360 can be lowered using rope or connected to a telescoping pole to gain access deep within collapsed structures or confined spaces.
The self powered camera creates its own wired or wireless network and streams live 360° video and two-way audio back to a tablet running Agility's proprietary controlled FL360 mobile application. Images and 360° videos can be shared via the cloud, displayed on internal/external mapping software or reviewed using the FL360 applications media player.
ATC had an ambitious mission to put the "TECH" back in technical rescue by harnessing recent advances in technology and building practical rescue solutions.
"What was unthinkable only a few years ago for a small company has now become reality with the introduction of FirstLook360" stated the company in its press release.
Andy Ibbetson, Co-Founder and Director of Product Development stated, "We are honoured to be working with CAN-TF1 to enhance their capabilities and build a partnership that will allow us to test and evaluate new image and mobile technologies to enhance and improve today's search and rescue teams."
