Vancouver, BC, April 15, 2019--(T-Net)--Vancouver-based Quantumem Technologies announced today that it will be revealing their latest NVMeoF Ethernet JBOF ASIC-based SSD Storage system at the upcoming flash memory summit in Santa Clara Convention Center on August 2019.
NVMe and NVMeoF are rapidly becoming the preferred solution for high-speed storage. NVMe offers greater data transfer rates and a much higher throughput compared to traditional HDs. NVMeoF technology brings the same advantages to network storage. NVMe over Fabrics is expected to be widely adopted in the cloud data center and enterprise markets.
To meet the growing and differing SSD requirements of cloud and enterprise data center, the data center requires more densely packed, higher capacity SSDs. As far as SSDs go, the new ruler or EDSFF form factor holds a lot of potential for both capacity and cooling. EDSFF is one of the key emerging storage form factors that will lead the way forward.
Quantumen will announce an ASIC RDMA Hardware based 25G/50G/100G Ethernet NVMeoF JBOF System, achieving native PCIe3.0 NVMe SSD performance.
Designed for data centers, this high performance system combining with new Ruler or EDSFF SSD form factor, can achieve super-high density.
This JBOF system will be designed as a standard 1U chassis and supports up to 32 NVMe-oF Ruler or EDSFF SSD modules. The internal hardware board design provides 6x 100G uplink ports and PCIe NVMe SSDs for non-blocking access.
With this whole new system architecture, combined with Quantumem's super-high density ruler form factor hardware design, the company says it can achieve high density in 1U systems, that would be another milestone step towards building a next-generation data center platform.
The system will have high performance and super-high density, while maintaining extremely low power consumption, according to the company. At the same time, the new JBOF system is expected to significantly simplify the deployment of high-performance super-high density storage systems in data centers.
