LifeSciences BC Announces New President and CEO to Lead Organization

Vancouver, BC, May 1, 2019--(T-Net)--LifeSciences BC has announced the appointment of Wendy Hurlburt, as the organization's new President and CEO.
"We are very pleased to have Wendy join and lead our team; as she brings a strong business background in pharmaceutical, not-for-profit and operations management to this executive position. This is an exciting time for our sector and the Board is confident that, under Wendy's leadership, LifeSciences BC will continue to catalyze the growth of a strong provincial life sciences and health technology ecosystem." said Nancy Harrison, Chair, LifeSciences BC Board of Directors.
Wendy, a senior executive who brings more than 20 years of global finance, operations and compliance leadership experience in healthcare and technology sectors, has held leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, the Heart & Stroke Foundation and Lexmark International.
Known as a leader with strong business acumen and experience in leading strategic partnerships, new business development Initiatives, transformation projects and the Integration of new businesses and/or business models, her experience will serve well, the interests of this large and complex sector. Of importance, as technology and health become more firmly integrated, is Wendy's strategic management in finance, operations, IT, privacy, compliance, regulatory, quality and risk management programs in the profit and not-for-profit sectors.
Wendy has a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, MBA from Queen's University and a Certificate in Strategic Leadership from the Sauder School of Executive Education, University of British Columbia. In addition, Wendy serves on the Board of Directors of The Centre for Drug Research and Development and Chair's CDRD's Finance & Audit Committee.
Wendy lives in North Vancouver with her family and is very active within her community, volunteering at both the local and leadership level.
