Federal Government Wage Subsidy for Businesses to Be Extended to December: Trudeau
Tuesday, July 14, 2020
Vancouver, BC, July 14, 2020--Prime Minister Trudeau said the federal government is extending the emergency wage subsidy program to December of this year. The program covers 75% of wages, up to a weekly maximum of $847, for workers at eligible companies and non-profits affected by the economic slowdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The wage subsidy program is the centrepiece of the government's plan to get Canadians back to work following several months of restricted economic activity.
