Bryan Buggey Named Invest Vancouver's New Executive Vice President

Burnaby, BC, October 19, 2022--(T-Net)--Invest Vancouver has announced the appointment of Bryan Buggey as the new Executive Vice President, effective November 7.
Bryan is joining the Invest Vancouver team to bring a forward-thinking approach to regional economic development and strategic investment attraction. He has been a key leader in transformational economic development in the Metro Vancouver region, and brings extensive experience in investment attraction as well as a passion for climate action, innovation, circular economy and the future economy.
"Invest Vancouver is excited to hire Buggey based on his exceptional understanding of the economic development and the investment attraction landscape regionally, nationally and globally," said Jacquie Griffiths, President of Invest Vancouver. "He brings more than three decades of experience as a leader in entrepreneurship, sustainability, and innovation."
Since 2010, Bryan has been responsible for economic development at the City of Vancouver's Economic Commission where he led teams in charge of projects aimed at supporting the Vancouver business ecosystem's development, as well as its transition towards a knowledge-based, low carbon, circular economy.
"Invest Vancouver is boosting the region's capacity to address critical economic issues for our business community including foreign direct investment, workforce attraction & development, and supporting the transition to a more resilient regional economy. I look forward to bringing my experience to accelerate that work and create strong partnerships across the region", Buggey said.
Buggey will oversee and expand the capacity of Invest Vancouver's team to serve the Metro Vancouver region. He will also focus on integrating the work of the three function areas - conduct research, foster collaboration, and attraction strategic investment - and play a key role in developing an overall regional strategic plan for economic development that is aligned with its member jurisdictions and helps the region become more resilient and prosperous.
