COVID-19: B.C. Workplaces No Longer Required to Allow for Remote Work
Friday, February 18, 2022
Vancouver, BC, February 18, 2022--B.C. workplaces are no longer required to accommodate remote work options for employees due to COVID-19. On Thursday, health officials updated a public safety order for workplaces to remove a paragraph that previously outlined the requirement for employers to "allow workers to work from their private residence, if possible, given the nature of the work involved." The only exception was for work that had to be conducted in the workplace. Employers are still required to have COVID safety plans in place and masks are still mandatory in indoor spaces.
