Delta, BC, April 5, 2022--(T-Net)--Hydra Energy announced that three months of real route driving with their first paying fleet customer, Lodgewood Enterprises in Prince George, has been successfully completed with no negative impact on truck performance even during the cold Canadian winter.
Last October Lodgewood received delivery of the first of 12 heavy-duty trucks to be converted with Hydra's fully reversible, hydrogen-diesel conversion kit reducing GHG emissions by up to 40% per truck.
This initial period allowed Hydra to gather valuable data while the truck drove its regular return-to-base routes of up to 1400 km on hydrogen-diesel co-combustion. This helped us ensure the company was matching their tech with their customers' real-world needs and demonstrate the truck to other interested local fleets.
As the conversion kit allows seamless transition back to diesel, Lodgewood will now return to diesel-only operation until Hydra completes the world's largest H2 refuelling station in Prince George next year.
In the meantime, the company says it will convert the remaining 11 trucks in the Lodgewood fleet as well as an additional fifty three trucks in the region.
Hydra Energy CEO, Jessica Verhagen
"We are very excited to move into this next phase of our flagship project in Prince George, the construction of the Hydra refuelling station. The warm welcome and support we have received from the community has been very appreciated, and we look forward to continue investing and creating jobs in this region" said the company in a release.
