Trades and Technology Students at BCIT Get New and Renewed $162.6 Million Training Facilities

Burnaby, BC, February 18, 2022--Students, staff, and faculty in BCIT trades and technology programs will soon have access to new training facilities with an investment of $162.6 million in the Trades and Technology Complex (TTC) at the Burnaby Campus. A collection of new and renovated buildings and enhanced campus infrastructure, the TTC will create increased access to world-leading, adaptive learning environments for 21st-century trades education.

BCIT Partners with YVR Innovation Hub as 'Living Lab' for Internet of Things (IoT)

Burnaby, BC, June 16, 2021--Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is establishing an Innovation Hub, a centre for excellence to spur innovation and drive growth across the region. YVR has partnered with BCIT Centre for Internet of Things to obtain technical expertise, specifically a living lab for students and faculty to research new processes and technology from a wide variety of applications.

BCIT Designs Exercise Machine for People With Disabilities (AAPLEwalk)

Burnaby, BC, February 21, 2020--The BCIT Rehabilitation Engineering Design Lab (REDLab) in the Centre for Applied Research and Innovation (CARI)designed a prototype of the AAPLEwalk™, a revolutionary exercise machine for people with disabilities, which is now ready for user testing. This exercise machine is the first of its kind.
