MDA Wins Multi-million Dollar Contract with OHB System AG to provide Fine Pointing for Solar Arrays and Tracking Antennas

Richmond, BC, June 22, 2018--(T-Net)--MDA, a Maxar Technologies company (formerly MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd.) (NYSE: MAXR; TSX: MAXR) announced today that it has signed a multi-million dollar contract with OHB System AG (OHB) to provide fine pointing for solar arrays and tracking antennas for the Heinrich Hertz communications satellite.
MDA's innovative subsystems have a high level of functional integration, which optimizes mass and volume, and provides the satellite with more significant cost savings. The satellite will employ MDA's innovative subsystem to continuously position the solar arrays as well as the satellite's pointing and tracking antennas.
The Heinrich Hertz satellite is a national communications satellite program for the German Space Agency, DLR, exploring and testing new space technologies to determine, among other things, how broadband can result in higher data speeds for mobile final users. It also carries a payload for military communications purposes. OHB System AG is the Prime Contractor.
