Vancouver, BC, July 16, 2008--(T-Net)--Sierra Systems, a leader in innovative information technology and consulting services, announced the release of its Court Case File Management Solution. The solution is based on Sierra's 14 years of experience serving courts across the US and Canadian markets and represents the next-generation approach to solving the problems associated with massive volume of sensitive information that courts must manage.
Sierra's Court Case File Management solution helps court personnel - judges, clerks and administrators - improve the way courts create, consume and manage information, and allows them to improve the service provided to citizens and other constituencies. The solution does this by automating processes, streamlining operations and proactively notifying appropriate personnel when updates or changes are made to relevant case files. Additionally, because the information can be presented through a browser interface, Sierra's Court Case File Management solution helps courts better serve their communities by providing online access to court information to the public.
Sierra's Court Case File Management solution manages the end-to-end document and content lifecycle throughout court operations. These documents can be physical claim forms, electronically submitted files and other tangible or virtual assets. Historically, courts have managed these documents through extremely labor intensive and expensive hard copy format. In the past, information needed for a case was searched for, aggregated and then physically delivered to the judge, counsel and citizens for use. Now with Sierra's Court Case File Management solution, courts are able to scan the information into the system (or even receive it initially in electronic format). Documents and assets are then tagged appropriately, and can be reviewed by anyone with the appropriate credentials and security clearance. Additionally, by scanning and receiving information electronically, there is a dramatic reduction in the number of lost and misfiled documents. The resulting decrease in re-work coupled with more complete case files means courts can focus on adjudicating cases and dispensing justice, rather than worrying about lost files and incomplete case documentation that cause court operations to grind to a halt.
Key components of the solution include:
- Integrating disparate legacy applications to create "one view" of the case file
- Scanning at the point of entry to remove physical documents from the system to improve efficiencies and reduce costs
- Displaying information and documents 24/7 to different constituencies through online access
- Defining processes and presenting up-to-date information to the approved users at predefined points in the court process (i.e. posting of a summary judgment)
- Storing the information in a fault-tolerant, redundant storage environment that can double as a disaster recovery platform
- Using the Court Case File Management infrastructure as a foundation of future eFiling initiatives.
Sierra's Court Case File Management solution leverages scanning, document management and workflow technologies to capture, secure and manage court information. Additionally, our consultants have deep expertise integrating related applications and data sources to create a "whole view" of case file information and to enable true end-to-end processes management of court operations.
"One of the key differentiators of Sierra's Court Case File Management is the specialized experience of our consultants within this market, coupled with our reputation as a trusted advisor to courts across North America. Our proven approach applied to these transformational projects helps our court clients maximize value and reduce risk." says Jim McGavin, EVP Justice Practice at Sierra.
