Vancouver, BC, March 29, 2012--(T-Net)--Icron Technologies Corporation, a global leader in USB and KVM (keyboard-video-mouse) extension solutions, has released the new USB Ranger®2211 for extending USB 2.0 devices including keyboards, mice, interactive whiteboards, flash drives, hard drives, audio devices, and web cameras up to 100 meters over a single Cat 5 cable. This high-speed USB 2.0 extender is ideal for classrooms, corporate board rooms, factory floor automation, and security monitoring.
With ‘Flexible Power', the USB Ranger® 2211, enables an installer to eliminate the need to carry multiple extenders in their inventory since power can be supplied to either the local extender or remote extender. Additionally, it extends USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices up to 330 ft (100m) over a single Cat 5 cable.
“System integrators tell us that the flexible power option for our USB Ranger® 2211 extenders removes the worry of having the appropriate power configuration predetermined or stocking multiple SKUs. Now, they can decide right at the time of installation on which side to connect to power, saving valuable time,” said Robert Haefling , Icron Technologies President & CEO. “We're seeing interest in Icron's newest USB extension product throughout North America, Europe and Asia.”
The USB Ranger®2211 uses Icron's patented USB technology and supports all major operating systems: Windows®, Mac OS X®, and Linux®. It supports all USB devices up to 480Mbps and is true plug and play as it doesn't require any additional drivers to be installed.
