DigiBC Announces MOU with Korean Digital Content Agency

Vancouver, BC, February 26, 2010--(T-Net)--Michael Bidu, president of DigiBC, announced DigiBC has signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding with Korea's Gyeonggi Digital Contents Agency.
Greg Robertson, Mayor of Vancouver and Yeon Chae You, representing GDCA witnessed the signing of the MOU.
Iain Black, Minister of Small Business, Technology, and Economic Development; Mayor Greg Robertson and Geri Salembier, Assistant Deputy Minister with Western Economic Diversification had positive remarks about the potential for new business opportunities between the two digital media and wireless industries.
DigiBC is the Digital Media and Wireless Association of BC, which promotes and supports the growth, competitiveness and sustainability of the BC industry in the world. GDCA performs a similar role for Korea's digital media industry in Ghyeonggi province.
The memorandum sets out the commitment of both organizations to promote opportunities to connect and form business partnerships between digital media companies in both countries.
Under the terms of the MOU, both organizations are committed to helping visiting delegates from both countries to make business contacts and to take part in networking and economic development opportunities. They will also facilitate tours and other meetings or events for visitors.
Top-level executive meetings will also take place whenever delegates from one organization are attending the other's trade missions. As well, both DigiBC and GDCA are developing plans to exchange personnel to develop projects and for other activities promoting their industries.
“This is exactly the sort of arrangement I expected to happen as a result of the efforts our industry has put in to help make the 2010 Winter Olympics a great sporting, cultural and business event,” said Bidu. “We were given an opportunity to show visiting media and business people just how creative and innovative our industry is - and we seized it.”
More than 70 member companies of DigiBC contributed time, money and expertise to help create the VX Showcase (www.vxperience.com) and to present innovative tools for visiting non-accredited media to use to have an extraordinary experience while visiting Vancouver.

GDCA represents more than 20,000 people in 700 companies. The total revenue stands at over $2 billion making it total of in Gyeonggi Province.
