Richmond, BC, February 27, 2019--(T-Net)--Clevest has been selected by Newport News Waterworks for a Mobile Workforce Management solution to replace their paper-based processes and increase efficiency in their field operations.
The workforce automation solution is integrated with Clevest's Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) technology, and will be used by 30 mobile and 15 office workers for the City's Meter Operations Branch.
Newport News Waterworks is a regional water provider, owned and operated by the City of Newport News. The utility serves over 400,000 people in Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, York County and part of James City County.
"We wanted a field mobility solution that would electronically handle multiple formatted work orders on a mobile device, with the ability to schedule and route work in an orderly manner, track field personnel, handle dispatch duties, and provide real-time updates," stated Logistics Manager Shawn Rohrbach of Newport News Waterworks. "Clevest's unique solution met all these requirements, and provided an easy integration process for our SAP and Esri systems. Clevest's experience with the water utility industry was also an important factor in our decision."
Clevest Mobile Workforce Management and AVL will be deployed with integrations to the utility's enterprise systems - including SAP CIS and Esri ArcGIS - and operated through CalAmp modems.
The deployment will include Clevest's SAP Add-on Component and Quick Start Templates for SAP ECC integration, along with Clevest's Mobile GIS system, WorkSpace for office users and dispatchers, and WorkBook for mobile (field) users. Newport's team will also be trained on Clevest's Genesis Configuration solution in order to bring about system enhancements themselves.
"We are pleased to partner with Newport News Waterworks with the latest versions of our Mobile Workforce Management and AVL solutions and help achieve their vision for paperless work orders," stated Thomas Ligocki, President and CEO for Clevest. "The reduction in manual labor will greatly reduce data entry errors into their SAP system, and our successful history of water utility deployments will be a major asset during this deployment."
To date, 220 utilities have selected Clevest to manage their field workers, crews and contractors. Combined, the Clevest solution serves 100M+ consumers through 12,000+ mobile workers and 1,200+ dispatchers.
