Statewide Federal Credit Union looks to increase its member reach by launching its first mobile branch.
Vancouver, BC, September 10, 2013--(T-Net)--In partnership with Vancouver, BC-based TRG Mobilearth Inc., Statewide Federal Credit Union is set to go live with a tablet-based MobiBranch app, enabling employees to leave the branch and perform branch functions like new accounts, loan and mortgage applications anywhere their members live, work or play.
MobiBranch is a complete solution for financial institution employees, allowing them to onboard new accounts, complete lending applications, show off marketing brochures or other documents and use mobile payments to fund share accounts instantly. Completed forms are uploaded to a secure MobiBranch server with automated routing to ensure the applications reach the right person or department instantly.
“With MobiBranch we are going to increase our credit union membership, originate more loans and mortgages and offer a new level of convenience for our members.” says Bruce Ulrich, head of Marketing at Statewide FCU. “By getting our employees out of the branch to where our members live, work and play, members can accomplish their in-branch banking anywhere, and on their schedule, not ours.”
MobiBranch also includes a server-side component which will allow in-branch employees to leverage their existing computers but still take advantage of the Mobilearth smartphone app for digital signatures. The end result is a paperless application or branch form that can easily be routed to different departments.
Paul Armstrong, General Manager of Statewide FCU adds “With digital signatures on the tablet and smartphone, we are going paperless, which makes our members happy knowing they are dealing with a greener credit union. And the credit union will save money by reducing paper use.”
Additionally, MobiBranch also offers a mobile payment function from within the tablet app. “The mobile payment feature allows us to not only onboard our new members, but to accept deposits electronically, eliminating the need for our employees to handle cash, thus avoiding the associated security risk. We can also use this for fundraising initiatives, with mobile staff available to work remotely and collect payments from outside the branch,” said Ulrich.
MobiBranch enables employees to be as mobile as their members. “This product is going to be a game changer for those financial institutions that want a leg up on their competition.” says Tia Lee, CEO of TRG Mobilearth Inc. “Getting employees out of the branch and into the community makes the credit union more accessible than ever and everyone can appreciate more convenience in their lives.”
