LifeSciences British Columbia Appoints Don Enns as President

Vancouver, BC, September 1, 2010--(T-Net)--Industry association LifeSciences British Columbia announced the appointment of Mr. Don Enns as the new President of the organization effective September 7th, 2010.
Mr. Enns has been a leader in British Columbia's life sciences industry for over 25 years, most recently as President and CEO of CANTEST Ltd., a BC-headquartered global organization providing professional analytical and clinical services in support of environmental quality, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food safety industries as well as related projects for business and government. “I am extremely proud to be appointed to this position, and recognize both the challenges and opportunities associated with further developing the life sciences sector in BC at this pivotal point in time,” commented Mr. Enns. “LifeSciences BC plays a vital role in ensuring that British Columbia continues to be a globally recognized life sciences jurisdiction and leading knowledge-based economy. I look forward to working with all of LSBC's members, sponsors and partners to further build on this strong foundation.” Dr. Simon Pimstone, Chair of LifeSciences BC remarked, “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to welcome Don to the organization. Don has been a highly respected member of our industry for many years and through his numerous achievements and contributions both locally and internationally, he has proven himself to be an impressive leader of the highest caliber. I know he will be a tremendous asset to LSBC and to the entire life sciences community in this province.” Mr. Enns received his MBA from UBC in 1987 and his Bachelor of Science Chemistry from TWU in 1982. He is a Director for numerous local companies and non-profit organizations involved with technology development, education, community enhancement and environmental sustainability. He currently serves as a Director or Committee Advisor to Genome British Columbia, the World Wildlife Fund and two UBC faculties amongst other organizations.
