IEEE Vancouver Announces New Chair for IEEE Okanagan Subsection

Vancouver, BC, July 19, 2013--(T-Net)--The Vancouver Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) announces the appointment of Dr. Youry Khmelevsky as interim Chair, Okanagan Subsection of the IEEE.
Dr. Khmelevsky assumes the position of subsection chair for the remainder of 2013, following Dr. Julian Cheng, who has departed on sabbatical leave.
“The Vancouver Section takes this opportunity to thank Julian Cheng for his service to the Okanagan subsection”, said Alon Newton, Chair of the IEEE Vancouver Section. “We welcome Youry Khmelevsky to the position of subsection Chair. We look forward to continued growth and member participation for the Okanagan subsection in the coming months.”
Dr. Youry Khmelevsky is currently a professor of Computer Science at Okanagan College, and an adjunct professor of Computer Science at UBC Okanagan. Dr. Khmelevsky holds a PhD. in Computer Science from the Academy of Sciences, Ukraine, and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Ukraine.
