In 2020, The WIMDI Speaker Series is inviting engaging speakers each month to give talks on topics that help women kill it at work.
Welcome to Talk 8 of 12 - The Practice of Strategic Planning
Strategic planning is a key skill set for any professional with their sights set on leadership. Many people think that strategic planning is something that happens once a year in the C-suite, but the truth is that it's an ongoing process that can be done at every level of the organization. When it's done right, strategic planning is an asset that allows individuals, teams, departments, and companies to align their efforts with the areas that matter most to the business and make the most impact.
This talk will focus on the what, why and how of strategic planning. We'll cover: - What is strategic planning and who is it for? - The mindset needed for strategic planning - The process of strategic planning - Making strategic planning an everyday habit
The goal of this talk is to explore strategic planning in bite-sized pieces so that you feel more confident using it at work.
This talk is presented by Shruti Sridhar Murthy, MBA, ACC, Leadership Coach.
Shruti is a former engineer with an MBA and a background in Innovation Consulting and Technology. Now she coaches leaders, entrepreneurs and individuals, partnering with them on their personal leadership journeys. Her clients learn just as much about leading themselves as they do about leading others.
Shruti is fascinated by all things that enable impact: Our perspectives, the intention we set and the actions we take, and the space we give ourselves to learn and have fun in the process.

This is a networking group for women in male-dominated industries (eg: mining, finance, tech, engineering, construction, politics, etc.). We meet once a month for coffee/tea to chat, comiserate, strategize, and cheer each other on. It's a great way to connect with women facing your issues when they are few and far between in your work life.
