The topics are endless and the panelists are ready!
The rockstars on the panel are: Farshad Abasi Dana Epp Amiran Alavidze Deveeshree Nayak Harini Rangarajan
Farshad Abasi https://www.linkedin.com/in/farshadabasi/ Farshad is an innovative technologist with over twenty four years of experience in software design and development, network and system architecture, cybersecurity, management, and technical instruction. With a keen interest in security from the start, he has become an expert in that aspect of computing and communication over the last eighteen years. He started Forward Security in 2018, with a mission to provide world class information security services, particularly in the Application and Cloud security domains.
He is also the security correspondent for CFAX radio, BSides Vancouver/MARS board member, Vancouver OWASP chapter lead, a CISSP designate, and a UBC CS alumnus.
Dana Epp https://www.linkedin.com/in/danaepp/ Dana has spent decades as a security architect that focuses on helping secure software, data and infrastructure. You might say he's been on and led Blue and Red Teams well before it was even a thing.
When he's not helping to build and grow software companies focused on developing security tools he's advising others on how to build and break their own applications and environments. As both a Microsoft Regional Director and a Microsoft Security MVP for 16 years, these days he spends a great deal of time on security (de)engineering in the cloud, especially in Microsoft Azure.
Amiran Alavidze https://www.linkedin.com/in/aalavidze/ Amiran is currently Director, Security and Risk Management at Tasktop, building a product security program. With over 20 years in information security in roles ranging from system engineering and security operations to governance, risk and compliance, Amiran is advocating a pragmatic, business-focused approach to security. Security is not just a job, it's a passion.
Deveeshree Nayak https://www.linkedin.com/in/deveeshree/ Deveeshree wears different hats in Cyber Security. She is a Cyber Security Professor, a trainer, a researcher, a speaker, and a Podcast Host. So far, she has taught/trained over 5000 underrepresented people in STEM as a part of her volunteering initiative and continues to do so. She has spokes at the conferences such as RSA, Grace Hopper USA, Richard Tapia Diversity Conference, OWASP conferences, and many others.
Harini is a Product Security Manager at Twilio, where she and her team focus their efforts on securing the ecosystem of Twilio products. Harini enjoys partnering closely with Engineering teams and also building out security capabilities. Before Twilio, Harini spent six years within the application security space helping secure finance and retail organizations. She is based out of Colorado where she takes full advantage of the 300 days of sun. When she isn't partnering with engineers, you can find her scouting out the next 14er to climb.
