GDX - DIVISIONAL OVERVIEW
The Government Digital Experience Division (GDX) is responsible for ensuring government services and information are available online through government's main web presence at www.gov.bc.ca, and that ministry programs and services are informed by the input and experiences of the people in British Columbia.
GDX works to help government understand the informational needs of people in the province, and to help the public find and access the services they need from government. GDX supports people-focused policy development and great service experiences. The division delivers products and services to ministry partners and organizations including design and delivery of public engagement projects, field research with service users, plain language writing of online service information, analytics, and training. It supports the technology of online applications and websites including gov.bc.ca, and the technology that delivers news releases.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Systems Analyst is a key member of the Service Desk providing end to end technology support for GDX and GCPE. The Analyst resolves Tier 1, 2, and 3 issues and provides senior technical guidance to ministry IT staff, users, customers and vendors. This position is the primary interface to resolve technology issues by installing, testing, upgrading and maintaining shared systems software, hardware, devices, and line of business applications.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in assessing customer requirements, developing and implementing technical and business solutions;
- Minimum 2 years' experience providing customer support services in an information technology environment and helping end users to use and understand computer hardware and software.
- Experience using a broad number of application development tools.
Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence
- Experience supporting Web Analytics - including use of Snowplow, Looker
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash and/or SQL)
- Experience managing/supporting SharePoint 2016
