We are looking for an experienced game designer to take on the design leadership of an upcoming unannounced title with a brand-new IP. Working closely with our Game Director and Executive Producer, you will help deliver on the creative vision and ambition of the product, shaping the systems and content direction with our development partners to produce Kabam's next big franchise. As a design leader, you can skillfully guide the game's design to an incredibly high standard and help shape something special for players.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Drive design leadership and inspiration across all core areas of the product, from systems and gameplay, through content and narrative.
- Work with both our internal and external development teams to craft the player experience to the high standards we expect at Kabam.
- Direct and develop game design documents on a macro and micro level, iterating and improving through the development process creatively.
- Help build better, more efficient processes within the development team. Work with design and engineering partners to establish scripting, play balancing, and content tool requirements.
- Craft engaging character and RPG content that players can strategize, theory-craft and puzzle-solve within.
- Ensure a product mindset throughout the design process, understanding and communicating the value of features and content through the lens of a F2P economy.
- Be hands-on with the game, diving into scripting challenges, content creation, and supporting the development of the product to deliver an exceptional player experience
Your background includes:
- 8+ years of experience in mobile F2P game development in senior or lead game designer roles
- Experience in taking a product from early development through to a live service
- Deep understanding of RPGs and Card Games
- Rock-solid organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, including documentation and presentation.
- A strong desire to make the best games in the world alongside others that share your motivation.
- Familiarity with Unity is a plus.
- Bonus points for previous experience in CCGs, Tactical RPGs or turn-based games.
