Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electronics Technician to join our production operations team in Victoria, BC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics manufacturing, along with proven technical and communications abilities to operate as a skilled technician to produce high quality products.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems.
- Assemble final product, experimental circuitry or complete prototype model according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
- Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Set up standard test apparatus or devise test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
- Analyze and interpret test data.
- Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance.
- Write technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations for consideration by engineers in broader determination affecting system design and laboratory procedures.
- Shipping and receiving of products.
- Repairing returned products and reworking new stock.
- Updating and maintaining the RMA system including repairs and cost tracking.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to learn Manufacturing Assembly which requires the following:
- Perform testing
- Manual component / product assembly
- Product packaging
- Identify electronic components and accessories
- Building and maintaining test fixtures
- Responsible for quality control
- Reject product outside specification
- Clean and maintain safe work areas
- Communicate with other team members
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years Technician experience
- Good manual dexterity
- Excellent fine pitch soldering skills
- Ability to work alone as well as a team member
- Ability to follow work instructions
- Speak, read and write in English
- Minimum College certificate in Electronics
- Be able to operate various hand and power tools.
