Vancouver, BC, June 5, 2012--(T-Net)--Today, Digital Payment Technologies (DPT), Concord Parking and Genetec announced the initiation of a new holistic License-Plate-Enabled Parking (LEP) solution at Central City Shopping Centre in Surrey, BC. The LUKE II pay stations from DPT are central to the new LEP solution that Concord is introducing. This new parking system — which uses the license plate number as the key identifier — is designed to enable more efficient enforcement and parking management while making parking easy for consumers.
In this configuration, consumers enter their license plate number at the pay station to purchase parking, then simply pay and continue to their destination. They do not have to return to their cars to post a parking receipt, nor do they need to remember a specific parking stall number.
Property managers of Central City Shopping Centre can efficiently monitor and verify that vehicles have paid for parking using the License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology.
“Concord's goal is to provide solutions that are both innovative and value-driven,” said Marc Postlethwaite, director of sales at Concord Parking. “This new parking system will allow property owners to leverage parking to improve efficiency and maximize ROI, all while improving the consumer experience.”
With this advanced technology, in addition to paid metered parking, DPT and Concord also enable solutions centered around the license plate for free time-limited parking and monthly permit parking. Key technology components of this holistic system include:
“DPT's parking technology was built with integration in mind and serves as the foundation for integrating multiple LEP technologies,” said Alan Menezes, vice president of product management and marketing at Digital Payment Technologies.
“DPT had a great solution in place, and using AutoVu for the enforcement was a natural fit,” said Chris Yigit, senior product manager at Genetec - AutoVu. “Our dynamic LEP compatible backend enables us to pull payment data in real time, making vehicle-mounted enforcement faster and more efficient.”
