Monday, August 31, 2020
Vancouver, BC, August 31, 2020--(T-Net)--Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), a government-backed granting institution, recently announced funding for 17 start-ups, including Hydra Energy, that are pushing the boundaries of technology with sustainable solutions to drive our economy forward.
SDTC worked in partnership with accelerators across Canada, including Foresight, Western Canada's cleantech innovation center, to identify Hydra and other high-potential start-ups.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development remarked "When it comes to clean technology, we back possibilities, big ideas and game changers. The 17 start-up companies announced today embody these characteristics."
Hydra's solution enables truck fleets to run on green hydrogen, reduce fuel spend, and cut emissions. A solution which can contribute nearly as much GHG emission reductions to Canada as the forecasted adoption of electric vehicles by 2030.
Hydra's CEO, Simon Pickup, noted "We are honored to receive SDTC's recognition and funding which will help Hydra to displace more diesel in semi-trucks, offering a greener opportunity for fleets at a lower cost than conventional diesel."
